What is RAMJ:
-------------
RAMJ -=- RemoteAccess Message Janitor. Is a simple
program provide for everyone to help clean up the stray
message areas and boards that are no longer used.
ShareWare Concept:
------------------
Well everyone says they will not try out a program that
doesn't let them test it first without delays. So Michael
decided to take a step back in ShareWare, by not having any
delays, or noises. ShareWare means that you have the right
to test the product for a period of no more that 30 days.
At the end of thirty (30) days you must either stop using
the product or Register you copy. It's that simple, and
hopefully people will register! Registrations lead to more
programmers turning to the ShareWare concept.
All of by now know that most people do not beleive in
ShareWare. Because of this, most Programmers have gone to
great lengths to try and get the users of their product
registered. Because of this reason, the Key system was
introduced. So RodentWare came up with the Multiple Key
Concept.
MONIES
------
There are currently two (2) ways to register a program
from Michael Reece of RodentWare. One is a registration
for the program that you are currently using, "RemoteAccess
Message Janitor". The second is to register as a RodentWare
supporter, and obtain a registration (and Rodent.Key) for
all current, and future, RodentWare programs.
KEYS
----
$ 3.00 will get you a RAMJ.Key
for your product registration KEY.
$ 35.00 will get you a Rodent.Key until 12/31/90
for your RodentWare registration KEY.
$ 50.00 will get you a Rodent.Key after 1/1/91
for your RodentWare Registration KEY.

MAKING USE OF RAMJ
------------------
RAMJ does nothing major; just goes through MESSAGES.RA and finds
all messages areas that do not have a name, and clears out the name
field completely, as well as setting all other info for that area
to defaults. RAMJ also gets rid of origin lines for any no-longer
existant echoes. This feature can be handy when making changes in
you message areas. When the run is complete the unused areas of the
message base can be cleared out.
In Addition to Cleaning up the MESSAGES.RA,'RAMJ' also does three
Unique things A> Places: One (1) in the Days to keep old messages,
B> places: One (1) in the Days to keep received messages, and C>
places a zero (0) in Maximum number of messages. And why would this
be important? Because all message base packing utilities place a
message out of correct position every now and then. This will slow
down your mail system, because most packers will not look for these
messages.
ADDITIONAL USES OF RAMJ
-----------------------
MBUTIL has a "MBUTIL PURGE -FILE <filename>" feature that will read
in a file and delete all specified areas. RAMJ.EXE also makes a
script file for MBUTIL. All areas that do not have a name get placed
in a RAMJ.MBU file, like:
#5 -All
#23 -All
#108 -All
That way, when you delete message areas, you can then have MBUTIL
go through and remove all messages for that area. The command line
switch is '/m' which turns on the MBUTIL script creation.

PRODUCT SUPPORT ECHO
--------------------
A special announcement goes out to all of you to invite you to join
with the beta testers in a new support echo titled 'RODENT'. 'RODENT'
echo is to add support to all of RodentWare users without adding more
wear and tear on the other echo's. Ask your *EC about receiving this
echo.
THE END

said this is a simple program. Enjoy and do not forget to support
